Level 2 Materials Technology

Course Description

Year 12 Technology is a continuation of Level One and leads directly into Level Three and Scholarship Technology. Further tertiary opportunities include a wide range of University, diploma level and trade qualifications.
This course will cover a range of activities that require pupils to research, design and manufacture products that meet specified requirements.

Students will work within the context of recreation. Students will have a the opportunity to produce a product that be used in an identified recreational activity.

Sustainability and environmental considerations will be a major consideration for this unit of work.

A wide selection of trade based careers, Diploma and Degree qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering. Technology is on the list of prefered subjects for University entrance.


Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

$25 per term.
Stationary List. A3 20 page clearfolder - 30 pages, A3 unlined refill pad, 1 Artline 200 black ink pen, coloured pencils.

Recommended Prior Learning

14 Level One credits in Materials Technology or by negotiation with HOF .
