Course Description

This course continues on from the horticultural skills developed at level one and the science theory to support it. Major topics include: Plant structure and function – the parts of a plant and their role in aiding plant growth; Soil science – soil composition, texture and structure, the role of fertiliser for plant health; Amenity horticulture – use of bedding plants and ornamental vegetables in landscaping; Native plant restoration – the use of native trees and shrubs to restore a degraded habitat.


Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

$30 towards seed cost. All produce grown by students is theirs to take home
