Course Description

Agribusiness is the understanding that the ability to grow primary products is not sufficient to make growers and farmers succeed and that there are many other elements which are also important, such as human resources, innovation, marketing, policy, financial planning and natural resources. It is a University Entrance (UE) approved subject. Major topics include: Future proofing – biosecurity issues in the dairy industry; Innovation – adding value to wine (the Yealands Wine story); Financing options - strategic capital expenditure decisions regarding the citrus industry; Human resource issues – labour availability issues with dairying; Soil science – how modifying soil properties can influence plant growth.

$40. Includes $20 for seed. Any produce grown is Students to take home. $20 also for Field Trip to Vilagrads Winery.
