The Focus of the Understanding Faith Curriculum for Year 9 is beginnings.
At year 9, students will be taught the Understanding Faith Curriculum as prescribed by the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference and include topics such as My Story, The Life and Times of Jesus, Beginnings of the Church in Aotearoa/New Zealand, the Eucharist and the Church’s Year, the Church’s Story, Creation and Co-creation, Recognising Signs of God and Sacraments of Initiation

Religious Education is a compulsory subject. All students will have followed the Understanding Faith Curriculum's Year 8 course.
